When you walk into Amish House in Floresville, you're stepping into a different pace of work — one where a dining table might take six weeks to complete, where every joint is cut by hand, and where the finish is rubbed on with patience, not sprayed on with speed.
Our artisans follow traditions that predate industrial manufacturing by centuries. They select each board for grain and strength, they dry their lumber slowly, and they build every piece to survive not just daily use but the kind of abuse that sends flat-pack furniture to the curb within a year.
We're not the cheapest option in town. But we're the only option where you can run your hand along a table edge and feel the difference that honest labor makes.

The Process

Wood Selection
Each board is hand-inspected for grain pattern, moisture content, and structural integrity. Only the best cuts make it into your furniture.
Joinery
Dovetails, mortise and tenon, and finger joints — all cut by hand or with hand-guided tools. No staples, no screws, no glue-only assembly.
Finishing
Multiple coats of hand-rubbed oil or lacquer, each sanded between layers. The result is a finish that deepens with age instead of wearing off.
Delivery
Every piece is inspected before it leaves the shop. Local delivery is available, and we make sure it goes exactly where you want it.
